Hi. My QQ Tekna diesel auto is a couple of months old now and I am interested In the actual fuel efficiency members ware experiencing from this engine. I am averaging 44mpg. This is a bit disappointing. I am not naive enough to expect to hit the 60 mpg but was expecting to be closer. I was particularly disappointed with performance on the motorway when efficiency fell away dramatically as my speed headed towards 80. I am driving very conservatively with an Eco score of 77.

My cvt is juddering so I am going to take it in anyway. I am guessing that this isn't helping things.

Regarding the juddering, there are numerous post on this forum surrounding gearbox issues on the 1.6 Cvt engine.

Regarding mpg, my understanding (though please correct me if I am wrong) if that until the engine is truly bedded in, such as 15000 miles, then you won't start seeing a true mpg like advertised in the brochure. JRT2015-01-03 16:18:34

My mpg over 4.5k miles from new is currently 43.8, includes a lot of short journeys interspersed with some motorway journeys. mpg does fall away if you take it over 70

Early 40's would seem to be about average for the 1.6CVT which is far from disappointing, certainly not when compared to any other car that i have had. No doubt it could be bettered as some on here have shown but for normal around town with the occasional decent trip 40 does seem good to me. On a more encouraging note I see that the first fuel-cell cars are about to be imported to the US, that will knock MPG on the head once and for all
Tekna CVT 1.6 Magnetic Red - born 4/4/14 P/X 25/10/2015 for £19k with 12,000 on the clock - great car but time to change. No problems whatsoever in those 18 month's.

61 MPG 10% urban 90% extra urban. It's only ever been on a motorway once and it had 10 miles on the clock so didn't go above 60 MPH.

Real consumption on my 1.6 CVT is 42mpg after 14890km driven. NISSAN lies as well as other makers.

I don't believe it's true what you have just posted. 90% of 1.6l with CVT report average of 43mpg.

The 61 MPG is from a proper fuely and covers 2 full tanks of posh fuel from my local Shell garage.Don't forget my car has 17 inch wheels which help fuel consumption compared with the 19 inch wheels. My best reading on the computer was 71.4 MPG. Hot start 75 mile from Leybourn to Scarborough.

Some are mentioning that mpg figures drop off over 70 mph. Try doing the same journeys sticking to 50 to 55mph, no more, and you'll see your mpg figures rise to 55+mpg.
Im driving a 1.5dci manual. Town figures are around 45 to 50mpg. Motorway at 70mph and I get the same, 45mpg. Drive at 50mph and I get almost 60mpg. This is climbing inclines and dropping along the way. If the terrain was flatter then I can see how some people are posting figures that many of us are jealous of.
