Gel, that news is a absolute disaster for Navara Owners. I forwarded your Daily Mail attachment to our Dealer and within minutes he phoned back no did mention it was the Spanish built Navada D40 model from 2005 > 2008, but whatever a bit of a disaster. It looks like this problem has been around for some time, take a look at this attachment there are some interesting pics of Rust and broken Navada's - Dave

All the pictures I have seen are for corroded chassis, as in rotten through. This should have been spotted at MOT or inspection time. I'm betting that most of these snapped trucks have been abused & not taken care of.
On the other hand, its still strange why they all corroded in the same place, but takes 10 years for it to become apparent. Maybe its a water trap, poor anti corrosion protection or even fatigue, where the chassis flexes so much that the anti-corrosion protection detaches leaving the metal unprotected. Who knows.
