Nissan are playing around with a New PrpPilot System which has been installed in a Nissan Serena and is going on sale in Japan in August. This system is more of a Co-Pilot than an AutoPilot. It is supposedly going to be offered (stated in Autonews) in the New QQ SUV in Europe next year 2017. Another little Electronic Gadget to learn about and Play with which could be of interest to some - Dave ;)

The attachment explains the function and there is also a Nissan Video included and some Nissan comments :

This topic is in the German Motor Press (Autobild) this weekend again with the confirmation that the QQ will get it in Summer 2017, but with extra Radar Sensors. There is a comment from Nissan that the Driver's Hands must be on the Steering Wheel at all times - Lets wait and see Dave ;)

It just sounds like an over glorified active cruise control system. Sensing distances a adjusting speeds accordingly is one thing, but I wouldnt trust the steering side of things to be done autonomously. What about potholes, speed bumps, animal/person in road, lanes with no markings or ttemporary markings. Will it still work with either cruise control or speed limiter set? AI has come a long way but its still not good enough to be let loose on congested roads.

I have just been reading Auto Motor & Sport (German Mag) and there was a comment that the 2017 QQ model comes with the ProPilot System as previously mentioned. But was interesting was a pic (probably a computer one) which stated that this is the 2020 Model, if this is so then I could be interested as it looks more Aggressive / Bullish in design. This pic and the Infiniti QX30 look very similiar to me - Dave :)
Sorry for the pic quality copied from the Mag ;)

Just bought the "Auto Zeitung" Mag over here and what is covered is an article on "Off Roaders" and mentioned is the QQ 2017 with a photo which could again be a computer one. The comment is that it is planned for Autumn 17 and the QQ is the most popular Nissan in Germany from Jan > Oct with 24139 sold. The Front has a major facelift with the "V" Form being wider and extending further down the front valance to the Lower Grill which has a Chrome Strip added. Also the Front Wings, Main Lights (Slimmer) and Fog Light Housing are different. At the Rear the valance has also apparently changed with New LED Lights, also mentioned is a 1,6L DIG-T engine with 190PS - how true this data is, is anybodies guess Dave ;)
Here are copies of the 17 photo plus one of our QQ so you can compare the Front Changes :

If it'ss anything as good as the Tesla one it will be fantastic...it is in effect a glorified cruise control, set it, let it do its thing, just don't fall asleep if you're a bit fuddy-duddy!

The one in the Tesla lets you take over control with the slightest of inputs so if you see a pothole, animal, person you simply put an input into the steering or brakes and you take over - it's really that simple. The Tesla one uses a combination of visual and GPS to 'self-drive' so is not solely reliant on road markings.

That said, the Nissan technology is a bit wobbly at the best of times so hope they put more testing into this than they have the current offering...and hopefully tested it when it rains (yes, blind spot warning, I'm looking at you!)

That concept car is G-O-R-G-E-O-U-S and the dash (especially the larger satnav) is so desperately needed in the next QQ to keep up with others - looks fantastic.
