Qashqai Model: Mk.2 Qashqai Facelift - J11b (2017–2021)

Post by DaveBerlin »

There has been several comments regarding when the New / Re-Designed / Facelifted / Mk2 QQ, will appear but unfortunately there seems to be very little facts available in Europe from Nissan. What I have found is some articles which are US Based for that Market which might be of interest in the mean time - Dave :)

Nissan is among the leaders in crossover market, not only in US market, but in Europe also. Nissan has developed it’s cars into multifunctional vehicles with a mix of great performance and excellent fuel economy and would not be where it is now if it did not implement new technologies on new vehicles. Because of that the new 2018 Nissan Qashqai will be part of refreshment, update for the upcoming lineup. This is one of the favorite models among European buyers (Qashqai), while in North America it is sold as Nissan Rogue.
It appears that Nissan will drop the US Rogue in the future and switch over to the Nissan Qashqai. The Qashqai is a smaller crossover which was designed to meet the European Markets. The Qashqai Mk2 and also Rogue are to utilize the Renault-Nissan’s lift-up CMF platform and the difference being this particular Qashqai has smaller dimension compared to the Rogue.

CMF Platform : The car is built on the Renault-Nissan Alliance’s CMF (Common Module Family) architecture. The Alliance’s CMF system of modular vehicle architectures allows the company to build a wider range of vehicles from a smaller pool of parts, resulting in more savings and greater value for customers.

It is stated there will only be minor Re-Design changes or updates for the upcoming new Nissan Qashqai. Characteristic lines are present on upcoming model, headlights and grille could get few cosmetic touches, but nothing radical, while the rear of the SUV will be the same as before. Interior features will be updated with some additions from higher trims, Infotainment system improved and a new navigation system. The most changes appear to be safety orientated, not only updates, but also the implementation of new systems, accessories and new Dashboard clusters are likely.

It will be interesting to see how true these facts are in the end.

Chris, thanks for that video I had not seen it and it most probably is one of the Best I have seen with a good overview of the QQ. You are absolutely correct from what I see there are no changes, OK this one has a Chrome Strip on the Rear Hatch & Ally Pedals but these are most probably some OEM Add Ons for the Show. Regarding my Post the info' is all basically US Stuff looks like we will have to wait for the EU updates - Thanks Again Dave ;)

They are not going to change something so successful by much , it is so much a success that line 1 in Sunderland can't cope with demand and they are going to start building it on line 2 as well !!!

Qashqai Model: Still looking for one....

I'd like to see the facelifted Qashqai with the redesigned front bumper that appears on the Chinese QQs, with LED foglights. It looks more integrated than ours with the oval foglights.

agree, and you wouldn't have mismatch of colour temperatures between main light cluster & fogs.
