Cleaning the Windscreen / Replacing Wiper Blades

Postby Qash » Wed Jul 08, 2015 7:56 am

All the places I've looked at, including Bosh's own online catalog, said that the QQ J11 should use the AR 653 S (For LHD vehicles) which is 650/400.
Seems a bit tricky.

Edit:
Online catalog said AR 141 S for RHD vehicles which is also 650/400.

Don't know how I missed this thread!
There is a FAQ about it already... a bit basic though
Might swap it with this thread.

Cleaning the Windscreen / Replacing Wiper Blades

Dave, I bought mine (4 sets) here.
Qash, AR653S has shorter wiper (400mm) instead of required 425mm. I prefer rather longer (450mm - AR652S) than shorter. Passenger's visibility is anyhow bad when windshield is dirty and making it even worse is not really my intention.

I agree with you Dan.

The passenger side "view" is bad enough without putting something even shorter on.

The only place i can find a list for the genuine "nissan" originals is, ironically, ebay.
Sadly they have neglected to state the physical dimensions of the blades so i can't even use that as a reference guide.

288904EA0A & 288904EA1A for RHD models.

Considering the J11 is now coming up to 18 months of run out production it's a bit poor how badly the market place hasn't kept up.

I'm also a bit annoyed seeing the price of the ones you've linked to as they are considerably cheaper than the equivalent in the UK.

Dan, I have taken the Bull by the Horns and ordered some Bosch Blades to the Spec you stated, I done a quick check and all looks good with the passenger side one being that little longer especially if you have them already in use.
As you specified it looked like "auto-und-teile.de" were the cheapest on the basic cost but plus Post. I went the way I know with "Amazon" and got them for a‚¬25,33 (AR652S) + a‚¬8,89 (H301) Post was free Total = a‚¬34,02 (UK 24) which I thought was a reasonable cost but just a liitle more expensive.
I checked around here and at ATU which as you know is one of the biggest motor accessory stores in Germany just for the AR652S the cost was a‚¬41 (UK 30). On checking Halfords UK online the AR652S were not listed and the H301 were a‚¬14 (UK 9,99) - so hopefully all will work our OK - Thanks Dave

I also took the plunge yesterday afternoon and picked some bosch blades up from eurocarparts (which is near where i work). £19.92 for the pair.

Halfords wanted £35 for the same!?! Angry

The front driver side blade is 26" and specifies the J11E qashqai on the box.
The 17" one i put on the passenger side doesn't specify any Nissan vehicles currently in production but fits pretty well.

I suspect i might have got away with an 18" one on the passenger side (which also doesn't mention the QQ on the box) and i might go that route next time.

AlleyCat, I have just got back from our Dealer here (Germany LHD) and raised the Wiper Question with the Stores. The Nissan Nos. that I got were #287904EA0A / #288904EH0A / #288904EH1A and wait for it sit down the cost from Nissan rounded up was a‚¬17 / a‚¬36 / a‚¬32 which is a total of a‚¬85 (UK 61).

"Your Nos were : 288904EA0A & 288904EA1A for RHD models".

Your comment was : "The front driver side blade is 26" (660) and specifies the J11E qashqai on the box. The 17" (430) one i put on the passenger side doesn't specify any Nissan vehicles currently in production but fits pretty well.
I suspect i might have got away with an 18" (457) one on the passenger side (which also doesn't mention the QQ on the box) and i might go that route next time".

If you go the 660 / 457 combination be careful as in IMHO it looks a bit tight length wise and could clash when the wipers are wiping and or vibrating on the windscreen.
The Option I got from our Dealer was called a "Retrofit" - Bosch Aerotwin AR653S (650 / 400) and H301 (300) for QQ's from 12.13.
So I will stick with what I have ordered and see how it works out AR652S (650 / 450), I hope this is not too confusing as there are now a lot of numbers Floating around - Dave Confused Wink

AlleyCat, yesterday was Rain-x Day and today the new Bosch Aerotwin Wiper Blades AR652S (650 / 450) were installed. The space for these as Dan mentioned are OK they work and do not clash with each other. I think what you mentioned might well work with the 26" (660) & 18" (457) but then there is a difference of 17mm / 2 = 8,5mm which will reduce the gap shown in Pic 1 by that amount from what I have installed. So take to look at the pics showing the assembly and you can judge for yourself it could be tight - Dave Wink
Please remember these are LHD Pics :
For any members that are not that DIY minded it takes at the maximuim 5 mins to do this Job. Take a look at this Bosch Video which might help.

Thanks Dave.
I figured based on the /2 bit they might just squeeze in.
I'll see how i get on with the 26" and 17" and decide from there.

I couldn't find the equivalent to match Dans suggestion for RHD.
Most UK sites don't seem to carry the option.

Cleaning the Windscreen / Replacing Wiper Blades

AlleyCat, lets see if we can finalise this Topic with regard to Specs. I have searched the webs and you can find the Nos. Dan mentioned if you spend time searching.
Attached is the Data I have been looking for, one is for Great Britain RH & Deutschland Germany LH and the Dimensions are the same but there are different Nos for the Front Sets GB #3397014141 AR141S & Germany #3397118911 AR653S but with the same dimensions of 650 / 400. The Rear is the same No. for both countries #3397004629 H301 and a Dimension of 300.
Please take a look at this Bosch Site Information and also there is a Bosch App that I Downloaded with exactly the same Data. So hopefully we are now there but is there really a physical difference between the RH & LH Sets ? - Dave Confused
