At the Geneva Motor Show next week shows up Nissan concept car Sway that will give us an insight into how a future generation of small Nissan models may look like with the brand's latest design language. In the picture above we see the concept to some extent, with brand new front and character-filled LED headlights.

Here are just a few comments on the Sway Concept and some illustrations from the Genf Motor Show - Dave
According to Nissan, the Sway concept is an attempt to parlay the success of its Qashqai and Juke crossovers into the midst of "one of the most important sectors in Europe: the small hatchback". The Sway is said to provide a "glimpse at how a future generation of small Nissan models could look if the company's striking new design language was applied to a European hatchback". With the launch of the European Pulsar in the middle of last year, the only other existing hatch candidate is the Micra, the current generation of which first went on sale in 2010.

Dave I think the GTR gets my vote - if only!
Tekna CVT 1.6 Magnetic Red - born 4/4/14 P/X 25/10/2015 for £19k with 12,000 on the clock - great car but time to change. No problems whatsoever in those 18 month's.

Here are a few more facts and a Nissan video on the new Nissan Sway for those interested - Dave

Everything about the design of the Sway seems to point to where the car wants to go, forward and at speed. The exterior is a assembly of slicked-back shapes and lines that negotiate the body with considered swoops and angles before tapering together at the car's chunky, flattened nose. Large air inlets at the front help give the Sway a tough element to its styling, whilst its sharp and thin headlights draw attention back to the expansive glass floating roof. This is perhaps the car's most impressive feature. There are four sections of glass held in place by a central spidered support, which allow light to flood the interior and contribute to the visibility afforded all around the car. The roof sweeps back over the car and overhangs its sizable rear just a touch. The roof supports and air inlets share a rather fetching rusty orange color that complements the "bluish dawn grey" of the body. Likewise, the lower side trims have the same highlighting. There is no central pillar between the front and rear doors, meanwhile, in part to improve access. This is because the rear doors are hinged at the back rather than the front. Inside, the Sway has what Nissan calls a "gliding wing shaped dashboard" that is coupled to a large central unit. Two basic instruments face the driver, with the rest of the functions displayed on a tablet in the center of the dashboard. This allows for use by both the driver and the front passenger.

Just a few more comments on the Sway - Micra 2017 for those that are interested - Dave The Nissan
Company has decided to shake up the compact segment with fresh ideas. Sway
concept had done just that, with a new design language. The 2017 Micra will be
entirely based on this Sway concept. Since this model is part of the
Renault-Nissan alliance, it is not surprising that it will be manufactured in
Europe. There is still no information about the drive units that will be
available. The company expects increased demand for the Micra based on the reaction to Nissan Sway concept.
The new design is primarily designed to fully meet the needs of the European
market. The Micra is significantly larger than the current model. 4100 mm long,
1780 mm wide and 1385 mm high, this model will have a wheelbase of 2570 mm.
Already 275 mm in length more than the current model. The redesigned Micra is
characterized by the new, redesigned V-Motion grille, floating roof, boomerang
shaped headlightsand the C-pillars are jugged-up. Front wheel arches and rear
haunches resemble those of the crossover model of the company. Inner Sway
concept is designed along the lines of IDx concept. The company plans to
transfer the complete layout of the Sway concept as the Nissan Micra 2017. How popular
this new generation of the hatchback will be remains to be seen during the year
2016 when it appears on the market. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LYiM7tE ... e=youtu.be

It looks to big to be a Micra! That's somewhere in-between the existing Micra and the Pulsar.

There is just no need to make it bigger. The whole attractiveness of the Micra is its size.... That's just going the wrong way!

I do wonder if they will drop the DIG-S engine though. The only DIG-S I have seen since buying ours..... is ours!

The new Micra has just been unveiled at the Paris motor show.

In the What Car? article (http://www.whatcar.com/news/new-nissan- ... otor-show/), it makes reference to the Sway "The new car’s style was previewed by Nissan’s Sway concept car at last year’s Geneva motor show.

Also mentioned in the article is the sound system. Maybe it will make its way into the facelifted/revised Qashqai that is supposed to be coming out next year? :?:

And the new Micra also gets a specially engineered Bose audio system that features speakers in the driver’s headrest in top-end version

On Nissan's website, it states the Micra will have Apple's CarPlay, a first for Nissan. There are also pictures showing the Nissan Connect system. Whether they work in conjunction with each other, I'm not sure.
