QQ not sure
I would say that is a fair price given the spec of the car, you could maybe squeeze another £500 out of them.Glenn1961 wrote:Hi, new member who needs advice please, looking at tenka model 11 months old immaculate condition 6 thousand miles diesel, which I will keep for maybe 10 years is 18500 a fair price?
Check on auto trader what the going prices are.
Try and find out if it is ex rental, if so you may be able to negotiate a bit as well.
Are you trading in your car?
Cheers

Thanks Bobby, will not budge on price, looks about right looking at auto trader just seems a lot of money, I have saved for a long time don't want Nissan finance so have lost two years free servicing no part x either, that's why not sure?
It's a few months ago but I sort of recall discussing "workarounds" for deals that rewarded the use of Nissan Finance. If I remember rightly it went along the lines of take the Nissan Finance and the "benefits" (presumably the free 2 year servicing in your case), but then you repay either all or a significant chunk of the finance so you don't incur the interest charges but still take the "freebies". It may be worth having a "what if" discussion with the dealer. To be honest though it's not the route I took in the end because I managed to structure a better deal for cash on a pre-reg model, even then the dealer provided me with a full tank of fuel and the first two services for free without me even asking !

You say it's diesel but is it the 1.5 or 1.6, that can make a bit of a difference to price and tax band.Glenn1961 wrote:Hi, new member who needs advice please, looking at tenka model 11 months old immaculate condition 6 thousand miles diesel, which I will keep for maybe 10 years is 18500 a fair price?

Sorry 1.5, just been serviced next one a major one I currently pay over £280 a year tax on my old car so that should cover for service next year and I will have 2years remaining on warranty , never had any sort of finance in my life so don't want to start now already missed two QQ in the last month because I hesitated, thanks for advice.
I paid £21k for mine brand new from Motorpoint.
Ask yourself, why is a nearly new car selling so cheap?

- I'm wondering if u can ask the sales people car has had any faults?
- If it was returned as a lemon?
- Or if you can find out any history from the original owner & why they sold it on?
