You pay your money and takes your choice. Personally id go for the Ateca or the Skoda Kodaiq (video above) both look a better bet, I don't think you can beat cars, german/Spanish screw together. I have had my 1.5 diesel Tekna for 2 years so I know this car well now. Can be abit under powered when on hills but perfectly fine cruising on the motorway or town driving. Never less than 50MPG either on a run. Main moans for me is rattles under the bonnet fixed with tie wraps on a £28,000 motor. A/C condenser broke, 8 week wait and counting, roof rail stops a joke, on the finish, as they look like there cracking up and yes Nissan have replaced but will need replacing again by the end of the warranty. Had a SEAT LEON for 3 years not a moan about it. Not impressed with the Nissan build quality yet a quality price.

As you say " You pay your money and takes your choice" the worst car I ever had, from new, was an Audi A3, new gearbox, new Radio (this was never resolved), drive shaft issues, dashboard rattles, AC not working plus many others, in the end the Dealer took the car back and I had a VW Golf from him.

Good luck with the new cars guys :)
Only had my second hand (8mths) for 3 months now and I absolutely love it.
It is a pure joy to drive and so comfortable and the gadgets, especially the 360 view cameras are superb for parking.

I hope you enjoy as much as I, I'm sure you will.
All the best
Bobby

Well, considering the current standards, it seems to be kind of a lottery with most of the cars on the market.

Looking at the build quality, I have found most cars very disappointing, and in a lot of situations, despite the projected "image" of the product, you will ultimately end up paying for the brand and not what you'll actually be buying. Models that have been a quality reference 10 years ago, were a complete disappointment for me today, and yes, I'm including big brands here as well.

In the end, everyone is looking to get most of their paid price, and for me at least, no matter how I look at the matter, choosing the QQ still seems the best combination of positive points by far. Don't think I could get anything better @ around 24k EUR or 21k GBP.

I don't expect a "perfect" car, especially considering today's standards, and as long as any minor nuisances can be solved easily and during warranty, it will be no reason for me to complain.

I agree, the Qashqai seems to be value for money which is what we all seek to achieve.

At £21,000 maybe a bit more of a bargain. £28,000 was nearer the mark for me. Been 7 weeks since they diagnosed my broken condenser yet no up date or any info on when it may be changed/fixed. Hope you have better luck on your warranty repairs or you maybe driving a loan car for months.

Whilst I sympathise and hope you quickly resolve the issues, a one off event is not a trend. The owners who I have personally talked to have all spoken very highly about the car and the Nissan services. What does your dealer say about the delay in your repair?

Looking forward to picking it up, still a bit apprehensive about the electronic handbreak but I am sure I will soon get used to it. Is the starting handle still stored under the front seat :)
