Hmmm ... I like the Ateca. The exterior design is quite nice, and on the orange color is a real eye catcher :?
Interior is also fine, with mostly sharp and simple lines, with a pretty interesting night-lighting. Apparently it feels a bit more rough and sporty than its Tiguan brother, which kind of takes it to a different direction, away from QQ.

Personally I still like the QQ better for my taste, and I would't hold my breath for the Ateca to become a market breaker. The competition is heating up indeed - and all to our advantage after all ;)

However, out of the VW group it is Skoda brand that I appreciate the most in terms of design and innovation. That being said, it is worth keeping an eye on the new Skoda Kodaiq wich trully looks like a serious threat - way more than Tiguan has ever been ... Not sure but it looks even a class higher than Tiguan ... maybe close to VW Tuareg/ Hyunday SantaFe ? Curious what platform are they using for it.

You can see for yourself here http://www.skoda-auto.com/en/models/kodiaq

Seems to be built on the Tiguan platform and aimed at the X-Trail. Two more years before I change the QQ and it looks like the choice will be a lot better than it was last year!

I have decided that my new car will be a QQ Tenkna 1.5 DCI, I am breaking with tradition here as I have never had a Japanese Car and I am having it in Magnetic Red, I normally have white cars. I went for a test drive about a month ago and was extremely impressed, I did have some concerns about ordering the 1.5 rather than the 1.6 but everything I have read points to the 1.5 being more than adequate for my needs. I only drive 6-7K a year and being retired I am in no particular hurry on the roads. I like the way the QQ looks on the outside and the inside with the glass roof looks huge, going to place the order in about a weeks time.

Welcome Peter, hope you'll be pleased with the QQ. Not sure how Japanese it is though, having been designed in London, its engineering developed in Cranford and built in Sunderland!

The Nissan name carries the Japanese label, I suppose it's the UK design that has attracted me to the QQ normally I would have not even looked at a Nissan. Looking forward to getting my hands on the car but that will not be until mid December when I am back in the UK. :)

There's one on my Google Drive. It's 2014 so a couple of minor things may have changed.
