Hi all,

Hello to everyone on the forum.
I am about to buy a qashqai, I am leaning towards the acenta+ 2015 10900 mls costing £16000, ink blue.
I like the look of the tekna but thought the bigger wheels may make the ride a bit bumpy/firmer.
Any thoughts on the various spec models, pros and cons

Regards
Bobby

All I can say is I was looking at an ntec+ but decided the added goodies on the Tekna were too good to miss - when I could get a secondhand Tekna (8 months < 10k miles) for the same price as the pre-reg ntec+ I'd been attracted by.

Dont worry about the ride on the Tekna, there's nothing wrong with it.

If you're anywhere near Nottingham, this car is an absolute bargain - identical spec to mine (which I bought in March) and over £2k cheaper with only 2k more miles showing

Thanks for the info guys, much appreciated.
That tekna looks a cracker, only thing is I am after a diesel, can't resist the 60+ mpg along with no road tax.
Good to hear there is no issue with the bigger wheels.
I go off road (dirt tracks) when fishing, lots of uneven ground to negotiate, no need for a 4x4 though.
This has got me thinking about the spec of car to go for, decisions, decisions :x

Just read a report from a guy who has done a long test (7months) in the 1.5dci.
Pretty damning, rattles, gutless etc :o
Didn't feel gutless when I test drove it 3 adults in the car, then again 30mins is maybe not long enough and tbh I never really "put the foot down" maybe next test I will.
I am still smitten by the car and this has not put me off.

Go for the exact spec you want- that's what pointed me to the QQ in the first place as I would have had to buy additional crap on a C-Max to get what I wanted. The 19's on the Tekna are a bit of a Marmite opinion, but the ride isn't that bad. But if it's just the Tekna wheels you want then it might be better to buy a set and sell the 17's or keep them for winter.

Something else you can try is price matching- there seems to be a lot of ex-Europcar hire cars out there with a 15 plate first registered to a dealer in Leicester (KM to KY), all about a year old and approximately 10k miles. You can compare prices for identical specs, when I brought mine Acentas were the same locally and at Benfields, but they had Acenta Premiums a lot cheaper. For the price of a train ticket I saved about a grand and the local dealer lost a sale.

Yes - curious isn't it - it turns out mine was one of those, though I only realised at point of purchase - KO registration and with Hertz as the first owner. Apart from damaged wheels (which the dealer swapped after I threatened to reject it) it appeared to be in "as new" condition. I've had it for three months now and can't detect any problems relating to its "hire car" origins. People keep asking me how come someone would sell a car after eight months. Anyone know why they offloaded them?

Standard policy amongst premium end hire companies. But I don't know why there is everything from Visias through to Teknas used, unless the manufacturer insists on it in order to not impact the used car market too much.
