Hi. I bought a qashqai tenka a few years ago. Loved it so upgraded to a 360 not impressed with the sat nav as its not on the dash as of the tenka version but its where the radio is. Thus taking your eyes off the road. To have a quick look at it why do they not put the new sat nav on the dash like the old tenka Its got to be safe There Any thoughts.

I agree Sonar but I use the defunct satnav (the wife) to advise when in a complex junction. She reads the satnav and gives her interpretation. Must admit the satnav in my 05 Qashqai was easier to see.

Couple of points. First, its a Tekna not a Tenka, although lots of people make the same mistake. Next, moving on to a 360 would actually be a backward step, not an upgrade, unless you were talking a few years apart by which time the specifications change so much that the new Teknas are far more advanced than the original Teknas. Lastly, you can also bring up the sat nav directions/distance/manoeuvre indications on the screen directly in front of the driving position, or at least you can on the Tekna...not sure about the 360 version.

Yes my tekna was an 08. But the sat nav was much better than my 14 360 model all the information is on the small screen with the radio what iam getting at.is For safety reasons i think the sat nav should be on the dash as of the old tekna if all the new models have a screen in front of the driver ng pos. Happy days

Sonar, not ever had a J10 model so I assume that with regard to the Sat. Nav. you are referring to the position of the separate Sat. Nav. & Radio J10 against the combined Sat.Nav. / Radio Screen of the J11 (there is also the small screen behind the steering wheel). I must admit that the higher position would have been better but is it really a problem. My question would be, did you take a test drive in the QQ J11 before buying, because if you did why did you buy one when you do not like the position.
If it makes life easier you could buy an HUD System for the Dashboard / Screen which projects information on the screen and this is ideal, but prices vary - Dave ;)
