Had a run through to Edinburgh and back today to look at the new fishing shop (still haven't found it lol)
Put on the mpg indicator and was really pleased to note I got 66mpg for my round trip of 60mls.
Ok 20mls each way was on motorway a couple of miles dual carriageway and the rest start stop in the busy area of granton etc.
Other factor was I kept the speed on the motorway at 60, yes torture I know but just wanted to see what I could get driving conservatively.
Used the cruise control and was very easy on the brakes.
Overall very happy with this :D

Edit; it was actually 40mls on motorway not 20mls

Anyone else getting good mpg

On town runs I'm getting mid 40s to mid 50s. Motorway runs I set at 58mph and get a return of 65 to as high as low 80s on longer runs.

Best so far was Birmingham to home from cold (about 35 miles), with the fuel light on and showing 37 miles to empty, so needed to not drink diesel - 85.5mpg and miles to spare - but boy was 56mph boring :-)

Really wish id taken a photo to confirm this, but yesterday I did a 7 mile trip on a pre warmed engine and got 98mpg! It was reading 99.9 until the moment I pulled up on my driveway. This has happened 3 or 4 times now and ive never had my phone with me to capture the moment! I swear ill capture the evidence before long.

I did one manage to get a blurred photo of my 93.7 mpg. ;)

But my best actual mpg is 65.2 although some downhill travel was still involved. So not quite 66 :(

The thing that I dont get is the range left in your tank relitive to the gauge level, maybe its the size of the tank or parallex error?

On my 1.6 d I usualy have over 150 miles to go with 1/4 of a tank.

Just a calculation cockup on one or the other, or both, I suspect.
