SURPRISE SURPRISE!!!!!
Well that didn't take em long, First day they have had my car back as predicted, first thing this morning i get a call from the head of work shop saying he is advising i fit 2 new tires BEFORE they have even check the sensor or anything else in that matter!!!! No test drive to check or no checking the original problem and work sheets!!!! I went through everything i have learnt through all this in regards to the sensor etc and he just didnt has a scooby doo!!
The guy didn't have a clue i am really angry now, he didn't know if they use a hunter system in fact he didn't know ANYTHING. He had no idea what had been done previous by them or any refernce to any work sheets previous, he just thought he would call and just get a simple ok do what you like. I am simply amazed he had no reference of anything he could quote?? ill prepared to talk to a customer. Soooooooooooo unprofessional
Its a sad sad situation that you have to fight virtually with specialist dealers for them to carry out repairs/inspection correctly with knowledge we have to get ourselves.

Im getting geared up to speak to these guy's https://www.themotorombudsman.org/consu ... -complaint ...I made a complaint today to Nissan and all they said in a email reply was basically go to another Nissan dealer???? :o :o
So another dealer is gonna be right chuffed with a half arsed repair turning up are they??? terrible.

Completely understand your frustration.

regarding my post yesterday , my tyre garage owning friend picked up an email from me about my findings and suggested I got to one of their other branches (it's actually nearer to me!!) as their Hunter system is newer and I believe has the CodeLink system. Funny enough he said they've got another 66 plate Nissan in there today with exactly the same issue. I'm off there tomorrow (hopefully)

Yes its soooooo frustrating like you say, the real issue here is dealers are not GARAGE REPAIR set ups they are there to basically carry out the little issues with no experience how to deal with mechanical fault finding etc. They just go default to the usual solutions and keep fingers crossed it might do the trick and make out they know what they are doing but not with me i gave them a easy ride upto now sorry i will go through whatever channels i need to to get THEM to sort it so they maybe think twice about doing it again but i doubt it very much. Dealing with basically new cars with small trim issue etc that they just order new parts for and replace under Nissan warranty does not qualify them as mechanics. They are basically glorified assembly lines off site

So a trip to the garage for Alignment and CodeLink only to find my car doesn't support CodeLink. Seems that only later models support this. I know that despite mine being a 64 plate it was an early build and perhaps kicking around the factory for a while until it was released.

Garage said they have a 66 plate QashQai with the same problem, but on original tyres (was delivered with Yokohama's).

Seriously think its time to move on. This coupled with the condenser issue last summer and the damm parking sensors I think I'll change car (not another Nissan).

Jesus really.? Well mine is a J 10 it would definitely not support this. Everyone who is going to buy a qashqai needs to know all about this!!
When I was looking around I was purposely looking online for owners issues like this would been so much help, it would have stopped me buying one if I knew what to look for.

Hello. I'm having same issue with my J10 2012 N-tec+ CVT. After wheel alignment at Quick fit steering wheel pointing 11 O clock. Car drives straight like an arrow with no hands . I'm going to chase this up now that i found this procedure on this J 10 maintenance manual. I've booked mine in for Tuesday cause I've been driving like this for almost 2 years! I'm going to take a print of this with me JUST IN CASE i can't get through to them. They're all geniuses you see!
Hope this helps.
GOOD LUCK.

Right so this helps others!!!
My J10 is BACK and guess what??????? its SORTED!!! i was dreading it but they have done what i asked. As mentioned on the job sheet they have quoted all that should have been done in first place.
They swapped my almost new cheapo's back to the front of the car  as requested. A slight tyre pressure adjustment then realigned, was slightly in the red so adjustment needed then another realignment all showing green all ok!!!! then the "MAGIC" sensor reset. Car feels better then it ever has in the 6 months i have owned it, im pretty sure it was off when i first bought it as the tyres looked new and no reset had been done. It gradually got worse and i ended up where i was previous.

So it seems to have worked for me, i like to thank everyone for their input as without this forum i would not have had the knowledge my Nissan.. dealer certainly didn't. :o So all this special tyre crap you might be fed by dealers or fitters etc is just nonsense my tyres (though they get cracking reviews) are mid range its down to the wheel alignment process ultimately , fingers crossed the car stays straight for now.
It seems these cars simply MUST have a wheel alignment + sensor reset every-time new tyres are needed , if the dealer you try cant do this or won't move to next one is my advice.

Great news, my suspicion was for a steering angle reset. My car after a week after this is straight.

"MUST have a wheel alignment + sensor reset every-time new tyres are needed"

I didn't know there was a sensor but then it sounds like neither did many of the dealers\tyre companies.

Glad you got it sorted hkphooey, going to be interesting to hear if the same procedure cures other peoples steering\alignment issues. :)

Well you get the feel its the electronic's i did , you can just feel it through the steering wheel the sensor is fighting with the feedback from the wheels....Yes bud you are right lets hope this sorts out peeps who have put up with this for a while.

Some people may not worry too much but it was horrendous for me and the rest of us on this thread. And im sure its nothing to do with my OCD
