Nissan Qashqai from Sunderland to Istanbul
Not sure if any of you have been following the blog on Autocar or not but they are driving a Nissan QashQai from Sunderland to Istanbul and back.[quote"]]So this is a car that needs a thorough test, and it's certainly going to get one over the next fortnight, because Autocar is driving an example to Istanbul and back. Why Istanbul? Because it bridges Europe and Asia. Asia is the home of the Qashqai's Nissan brand, and Europe is this car's birthplace. And because it is a long way away a€“ 5000 miles, 20 countries and (all being well) 13 days away in fact.In case you're wondering, the countries in question are England, France, Luxembourg, Germany, Austria, Liechtenstein, Switzerland, Italy, Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Turkey, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Poland, the Netherlands and Belgium. The journey starts in Sunderland, where the Qashqai is made and where an example spits off the production line every 59 seconds, 24 hours a day.[/quote"]]Day 1: http://www.autocar.co.uk/blogs/new-cars ... day-oneDay 2: http://www.autocar.co.uk/blogs/new-cars ... day-twoDay 3: http://www.autocar.co.uk/blogs/new-cars ... y-threeDay 4: http://www.autocar.co.uk/blogs/new-cars ... ay-fourDay 5: http://www.autocar.co.uk/blogs/new-cars ... ay-fiveDay 6: http://www.autocar.co.uk/blogs/new-cars ... day-sixDay 7: http://www.autocar.co.uk/blogs/anything ... venFurther info: http://www.autocar.co.uk/blogs/

Dont be daft Mark. Of course Nissan will make sure they've got a Qashqai for the trip, after all its excellent advertising for them. Better than the crappy TV ad where you cant really see the car properly.
I think I need to stop reading this forum and the car mag reviews and watching out for the TV ad as Im starting to feel very frustrated and fed up. When I ordered my car at the launch weekend I was so excited but not any longer. Every time Im driving alone I count the number of QQs I see but I still haven't seen a new one on the road yet (apart from the dealer's demo car the other day when one of the salesmen was out fetching sandwiches in it). I sometimes feel sorry for the people who are driving around in their 63 plate, old style QQs and then I think that perhaps I don't feel sorry for them as at least they've got their cars.
Boo hoo!

Yes fellas youre right its just that Im 60 this year and Im just beginning to wonder whether I will live long enough to see it delivered. Its just a pity its a Motability car or I would be fighting for some extras off the dealer as a bit of compensation for all the waiting. Quite fancy some mats or better still some bling but I will be lucky to get a free tax disc holder (and even they will be disappearing soon). They dont make enough out of Motability cars so they wont break their necks to offer any freebees

I'm sixty one in May Gill, when Stan the man told me middle of June i let it be known i was disappointed, so just to appease me he told me he would throw in some mats, worth asking your dealer, tell him your not happy.
