Agreed . The system is 'flaky' and becomes annoying when it doesn't sense the rain, or only works when you have a windscreen full of raindrops... kinda' defeats the purpose of it... No, the mirrors only open if you press the start/stop switch (just accessories position or engine start).

I have the auto mirrors and which were dealer fitted (at cost!).They are good; closing when locking the car and opening when pressing the engine start/stop button (regardless if you start the engine). They can also be overridden by the mirror operation switch in the car.
