Trithat, You should recheck the price quote for a new Battery. I had a Nissan approved and main dealer fitted one last year Total cast £59.
That was the cost of a new Battery which the dealer fitted for free.

Re: 13 months 12500 miles in
It's interesting reading this post from people who have the same reservations as me regarding long term reliability and inept Nissan Customer Service. I have had my car from new and it will be 3 years old next month. I have had a few quality problems but nothing major except for a failed Fiamm Batte...

Re: Faulty batteries and associated issues
That a Battery should accept AND retain charge was the reason I wanted the Battery to be replaced under warranty but Nissan would not accept this reasoning hence I changed the battery at my cost. Like I said ." A bunch of muppets " not fit for purpose.

Re: Faulty batteries and associated issues
I had the same problems (Fiamm) battery and Nissan Customer Service refused to authorise a battery change because the battery would accept charge. The fact that the went flat after 2 hours was considered acceptable. (what a bunch of muppets). It came to a head when my Wife was stranded 70 miles from...

Re: Cruise control stopped working
I had the same problem last year and it turned out to be a failed temperature sensor. Your local dealer should do a diagnostic check to pinpoint the problem.

Re: 1.6 Dci Auto questions
The DSG gearbox has fixed gear ratios same as a manual box. The Nissan CVT has an infinite number of ratios and the engine speed will change sublect to road conditions and drivers right foot. When the cruise control is engaged the engine speed will ramp up and down subject to road conditions to main...

Re: Your best / average MPGs
Anything from 56 to 62 on a tankful but it is mainly driven on A/B roads not much town or motorway driving. Awesome for such a big car with an auto box.

Re: Good or bad?
I spent 6 months trying for a Battery change under warrenty. It came to a head when after a 75 mile run to Leyburn the battery had lost so much charge after a 5 hour stop I had to jump start in order to get home. It has turned out to be the best £59 I have spent this year. But the whole business lef...

Re: Good or bad?
A good question for a Sunday morning. My car was an early build Feb 2014 and I have lived with it from new. I still think it is one of the best looking cars in it's class, the 1.6 oil burner has plenty of power and the economy is awesome. I have just completed 155 mile round trip to Leyburn and the ...

Re: 1.6dci cvt mid range grunt
I have the 1.6dci with the CVT gearbox and find the mid range power more than adequate. When you put the pedal to the metal it goes like a stuck rat.
