Re: Ignition push start screech
Sorry. 2014. I'm demented. It's out of warranty.

Ignition push start screech
Hi everyone My 2015 qashqai had developed a fault just after warranty. My local dealership want to charge me £110 for an hour's 'diagnostics'! Basically when I start the engine by pushing the start button there is sometimes a screech from the steering column. Sometimes not, in which case it does it ...

Re: Firmware/ software updates
Hi everyone. I've been having music playback issues since changing to an iPhone 7 (iOS 10.2.1). Track switching is really slow, track duration freezes and sometimes takes ages selecting the playlist before seeing the list. I've tried my wife's iPhone 6 (same iOS) and it's fine. Plus my friend's iPho...

New tyres
Thanks Gel. You're saying that ideally they would match, but difference is academic? I think they struggled to get any tyre at all and this was what they could order quickly..

Yeah I was paying!! It think it's a suitable equivalent tyre, but it's the only one, whereas the others have a different W rating!

New tyres
Just had to have a new rear tyre fitted to my 2014 qashqai Tekna due to a rogue screw.
I noticed they fitted a 92 weight continental tyre as a opposed to the 96W on the other 3 wheels. The guy glossed over this. Should I be bothered?
Cheers

Apple Carplay
Nissan have committed to car play. I can't see any reason why the existing system can't handle it as an upgrade as it appears to be essentially a modified version of the phone OS mirrored on the touchscreen. However I have a feeling it won't be treated as a simple upgrade, but will be a feature on n...

Wind Noise
So my qashqai supposedly had the wind noise fix Nissan are aware of, but the whistle is still there so I agree with others that there are two separate problems here.. This is the gap I've identified and taped up for now. Taping other gaps doesn't fix it so I've definitely isolated it as the horizont...

Hi Paul
Yes I've had the same issue. It's stopped by folding in the mirrors! Took it into the dealer last week and they said it was a known issue and Nissan had issued a fix. However the fix hasn't worked so looks like it's going back again!

iPod Connectivity
Oh, and I believe that, if you leave a device plugged in, eventually the power will be cut to the device after a short time. Power to the USB is not constant when the engine is turned off. Just as other electrics like the radio.
