Re: Diesel or Petrol 1.6?

Not such a big problem on the back end of a vehicle. If it was the problem you imply then you'd see millions of drivers struggling to keep their vehicle in a straight line and I assume many more failed MOTs. Neither uneven tyre wear, or instability at speed would constitute an MOT failure yet a cha...

Re: Diesel or Petrol 1.6?

You also missed the fact that if you bump a kerb (as I'm sure many owners will in the time they own the car), the torsion beam setup has limited geometry adjustability (or even none), which can severely impact steering.
It's old technology, anti roll bar for me ta.

Re: Diesel or Petrol 1.6?

Ultimately new QQ has that torsion beam setup instead of the old independent rear link which is probably why it's less compliant and slower to react in corners. I felt it pitched and rolled a little on the test. Unless you go for the 1.6 AWD that has full independent rear suspension. Fair enough bu...

Re: Diesel or Petrol 1.6?

Wouldn't buy an Audi mate, they're not bad but horrifically overpriced for what they are and most are horribly nose heavy with bone shaking suspension. I desperately wanted to like the RS5 when I was looking for a replacement for my old Subaru and more recently the M3 - it's such a pretty car inside...

Re: Diesel or Petrol 1.6?

400andrising, out of curiosity, what engine are you comparing the 1.4 TFSI to in the QQ, the 1.6 or 1.5 DCI or the 1.6 petrol as examples? Agree with previous comments in that the QQ look, etc takes some beating but the Seat does look like a nice car! 1.5 DCI QQ in comparison. I personally really di...

Re: Diesel or Petrol 1.6?

I've had my 1.6 diesel for year now and it went back to the dealer last week for its first service. Any minor problems(rattles) were sorted then as I couldn't be bothered to make an earlier separate journey even though it's only 10 miles. (Hammond of Halesworth). Being a 4x4, my fuel consumption is...

Re: Diesel or Petrol 1.6?

Hi 400 and rising. Firstly, can't believe you are getting rid of an M3, you must be mad, why don't you like it or was that tongue and cheek? I've been thinking over an RSQ3 or SQ5 but gonna hold off till 2017. I'm also hoping Nissan get their act together and do an RS Nismo in the QQ.. I've had a f...

Diesel or Petrol 1.6?

Hi everyone, replacing the wife's Peugeot 308 1.6 petrol (110bhp horrible engine) for something a bit bigger to transport our new family addition (and associated baggage!) and hopefully with a bit more poke. The Qashqai looks to fit the bill in terms of looks and value for money, and the wife liked ...

Re: What Engine, am I making the right choice?

Truthfully the 1.5 DCI is one of the best engines that they do. Petrol engines are good but economy wise they are poor when pulling or carrying loads. The diesel engine is where the company have invested the most in, Door to door the MPG should be ok, it doesnt take long for the newer engines to co...
