looking for some 2015 Nissan Qashqai mud flaps

Hi Jose and welcome. My 2010 Acenta came fitted with them and they do seem to keep the muck off the outer wheel arches, lower door trims and bumpers. Although small they work remarkably well.

2009 QQ Aircon/climate control Problem

Thanks. It sounds like someone has replaced the Cabin filter at some time and did not mark the gears that control the Temperature. This is very important, rather like the cable operated systems. Get the cables incorrectly adjusted and you have the same scenario. As a matter of interest independent Ai...

Rust on subframe

I am totally surprised that a Subframe would rot to the stage it fails an MOT on a modern vehicle after only 7/8 years (unless the vehicle is parked regularly on Grass or in a permanent puddle of water). The perforation warranty refers to the Car Body and I doubt will cover Suspension and Subframes....

water on driver side floor

My first thoughts are that the drain holes between the inner wing and bulkhead were overloaded by a heavy burst of Rain allowing water to partially fill the area under the Black plastic scuttle trim for a few minutes. A poorly sealed body joint in that area would allow water into the Cabin. It is no...

Rust on subframe

Dave berlin's post had me spitting my coffee out laughing I had a 1970's Dolomite 1850 and when setting off rather quickly from a Roundabout there was a loud clunk from under the bonnet. When I stopped and had a look the engine Subframe had snapped on the drivers side and I almost had a Flat 4. Trip...

Rust on subframe

Yes. The replaceable under body components only get a very light coat of black paint these days and small stones being thrown up by the tyres soon chips the paint off. Councils putting vast quantities of salt down on the roads every Winter speeds up the corrosion. Nothing to worry about it is normal...

Replacing Cambelt on a 2010 1.5dci

Hi gvmdaddy, I was quoted £500 (6 hours Labour + parts). As a matter of interest I was surprised to find that the Crankshaft gear has no backing plate to help set the belt correctly on the gear. You start by fitting the belt on the Crank gear first. Most engines I have worked on have a shim/washer (a...

Replacing Cambelt on a 2010 1.5dci

Just an update. I went with the 18 teeth rule (between camshaft timing mark and the pump gear mark) and all was fine, started first flick of the key, idles okay and has the same performance. Sometimes things just get too confused with all the information we can easily access these days I think. I pr...

Replacing Cambelt on a 2010 1.5dci

Hi to all. Having been a Motor Mechanic for 26 years (among doing a few other things) I treat myself to a 2010 Nissan Qashqai 1.5 dci a month ago. I Knew it was coming up for the Cambelt replacing and was aware of how fiddly they can be, however I bought a set of timing pins and new belt/tensioner a...
