Thanks everyone . I have tried your suggestion gvmdaddy re brightness and that is an improvement, but the best improvement was clearly to close the roof. I have never ever done this and so used to the panoramic roof I had completely forgotten that the sun pelts in overhead. How daft is that!

I love my 1.2 x tronic. Have had super oomph cars in past but I do city living and there is no point to accelerating to 20 mph! Great on the M4 - again no sweat as on M25 et al what is the point??
