I think I would have gone out and moved my car before he got back.
His could have then continued it's merry way down the hill....!

STICKY: 1.6dci Misfires Misses a Beat
Hi All. Mixed news It's better but still not completely right. There still seems to be a bit of hesitation/missing at around 65mph (exactly 2000rpm - maybe significant) but not as bad as before. With cruise control on, downhill sections don't seem to bother it now. It does seem to be much smoother a...

Can lights be adjusted for continental use?
Best thing to clean the sticky stuff off is Isopropyl Alcohol or IPA as it's abbreviated to.
You can buy this online or any good hardware store.
Or if you have any friends who work in the NHS, the little pre-injection wipes (Sterets) they use also contain 70% IPA.

STICKY: 1.6dci Misfires Misses a Beat
It probably is the same issue. It was most apparent when you backed off the throttle and try and mantain a constant speed of say 65mph. The test was when the cruise control was on and you hit a downhill section of road, when the engine backed off acceleration it became very jerky, just like a fuel i...

STICKY: 1.6dci Misfires Misses a Beat
Good news People, it's fixed Apparently the file they loaded yesterday was corrupt. Nissan sent the same file again and this time it worked. I took it for a test drive and it appears to be fixed. It seems they have made the power release more gradual when you release the throttle. They tell me the fi...

STICKY: 1.6dci Misfires Misses a Beat
Just had a call from dealer to say that didn't fix it, I think the phrase is "no sh*t, sherlock"!They admitted they currently have three 1.6dci's with the same issues. At least I suppose it means they may fix it quickly as there seems to be a big problem.Hi Reuben. My previous Qashqai has ju...

My car
My new QQ 1.6dCi Tekna 4x4 with Chrome Style pack (mirrors and door strips). It really is a great car. It's almost perfect.Really smooth and quite to drive, feels pure class inside.Slight issue with 1.6d misfiring being looked into at moment - known issue apparently.Other than that, utter brilliance....

Rattles rattles and more rattles
My new 1.6 Tekna developed a rattle after about a week that was difficult to pin point but sounded like it was coming from the passenger seat. It was worse at speed.Turns out it was the tinfoil heat shield under the car, they put over the top of the exhaust pipe/CAT.I tightened up the fixings and be...
